The Yes on Prop 24 campaign is pleased to be participating in 3-part series of events alongside Andrew Yang’s Humanity Forward organization.  Hosted by the #YangGang here in California, this 3-part series will explore the topic of Data Privacy Rights, California Prop 24 and why your participation in this year’s election matters.

DAY 1: Movie Screening & Discussion of “The Social Dilemma”

Day 1 is Friday October 2nd at 7pm PST where there will be a virtual screening and discussion of “The Social Dilemma.” The Social Dilemma is an exploration of the dangerous impact of social networking on society. The film features researchers, scientists, and former tech executives who raise concerns about social media’s implications on privacy, human relationships, and mental health. 

Not only does Prop 24 address many of the issues raised in The Social Dilemma, but the Yes on Prop 24 Campaign is proud to have as supporters two of the privacy and technology experts — Roger McNamee and Shoshana Zuboff — who were interviewed in this documentary.

DAY 2: Who Controls Your Data? A Panel on CA Prop 24 & Consumer Privacy

Andrew Yang hosts this panel discussion on Sunday October 4th at 1:30pm PST where four experts in the field of data rights and consumer privacy will converge in a panel to discuss why your vote in this election matters.

Panelists include: 

  • Alastair Mactaggart, Founder of Californians for Consumer Privacy
  • Enoch Liang, CEO of the Data Dividend Project
  • James P. Steyer, CEO of Common Sense Media
  • Shoshana Zuboff, Harvard Professor and Author
